Should I use lipstick for pregnant women

Makeup is one of the beauty steps for women to help them become more beautiful and confident. However, during pregnancy, some cosmetics can affect the health of the fetus, including lipstick. So, should pregnant women use lipstick?
1. Should pregnant women use lipstick?
Makeup is one of the beauty steps for women to help them become more beautiful and confident. However, during pregnancy, some cosmetics can affect the health of the fetus, including lipstick. Not only do most lipsticks contain at least some amount of lead, but many brands of lipstick and lip gloss also contain up to eight other metals, says a new study published in the journal Environmental Health Perspectives. Cadmium, aluminum, cobalt, titanium, manganese, chromium, copper and nickel. (Aluminum keeps the color of the lipstick from running into the wrinkles around your mouth.) Titanium oxide is a whitening agent that turns red into pink. (The rest are probably unwanted contaminants).
When it comes to hidden metals, the worst culprit is the high lead content, which gives lip balms a prettier, shinier, glossy color. Lip balms that are lighter in color and more translucent are safer. In particular, studies have shown that many women, including pregnant women, use lipstick more than 20 times a day. During this time, the metals are absorbed into your skin and tissues and are likely to be digested when you eat and drink.
According to experts, the amount of lead and other metals in lipstick is quite small, but lead tends to accumulate in the body, and the CDC recognizes that no level of lead is safe, especially for women. Pregnant women, as mothers can pass on lead poisoning to their babies during pregnancy. In addition, too much lead in your body can increase the risk of miscarriage or cause you to go into labor early. It can also damage your baby’s brain, kidney and nervous system development or cause your child to have learning or behavioral problems later in life.
Soft herb and rice balm.
This was the first pregnancy lip balm I used. The ingredients in this baby are very safe because of the rice bran oil, avocado oil, shea butter and gac oil.
I usually use it at night and when I wake up in the morning, I just gently move my hand and the dead skin follows and my lips are soft and very moist. Also, after about 3-4 weeks of use, I saw an improvement in the pigmentation of my lips. The price is super cute, only 80k.
2. Innisfree Canola Honey Lip Balm
The next pregnancy lip balm I used was Innisfree Canola Honey Lip Balm, which is quite popular in Korea because of its safety and very cheap price (150,000 VND).
This is just a lip balm, moms, without the color. The lipstick also removes dead skin and reduces dark lips in addition to moisturizing the lips. Actually, this lipstick is not advertised as a lipstick for pregnant women, but my friend in Korea introduced me to a lot of pregnant moms there, and with researching the ingredients list, I found it to be very good.
I bought it on Shopee for 150,000 VND/bucket, and by the time I had my baby, I had already used half of the fourth ingot. I recommend moms to buy a few ingots and use them gradually. There are many places that sell it cheaper, around 100,000-122,000/bucket, but this lipstick is rather fake in the market, so I only trust reputable places and I don’t think it’s worth less than a few dozen :)).
3. DHC Best Selling Lip Balm
After Innisfree lip balm, the third lip balm I trust is the Japanese DHC lip balm. dhc is already too famous, but I can only use this brand when I am pregnant.
DHC Lip Balm
It contains collagen, vitamin E, olive oil, aloe vera and other nutrients to create high moisturizing effect and soften lips without creating shine. This is better than EOS in treating dark spots, but it is shinier, smells stronger, and does not protect against the sun. The moisturizing effect is the same. So, if you like Japanese products, you can use this one at night.
The price of this DHC lipstick is 700 yen (about 147,000) in Japan and 198,000 in Vietnam for Genuine DHC Vietnam, moms. You can buy it on the Genuine DHC website here.
After lips are moisturized to be soft and shiny, moms can use more colors of lipsticks in some necessary cases. Here are the top 12 lipsticks for moms for your reference.
