No flights will arrive or depart from Greek airports on Thursday, April 7, because of the participation of the Federation of Hellenic Civil Aviation Associations and of the Union of Greek Air Site visitors Controllers in a nationwide strike referred to as by Greece’s public sector union, ADEDY.
The union is protesting the federal government’s pension reform plans.
The strike of the air site visitors controllers will begin at 0:01 after midnight on Wednesday (Thursday morning) and finish at midnight of the identical day (Thursday).
In the course of the 24-hour strike no scheduled or constitution flights will function to and from all Greek airports.
In the meantime, port staff in Greece have introduced that they are going to strike on Friday, April 8, in protest of the deliberate privatization of the Piraeus and Thessaloniki port authorities.
